To build the casserole, place half the bread cubes into the bottom of a casserole dish. Spread half the sauce over followed by half the mozzareall. Add the remaining cubes over, followed by the rest of the sauce, the mozzarella, and old sharp cheddar. Sprinkle the dried basil over the top.
4 Place in a 375 degree F preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese melts. Remove from the oven and garnish with the parsley.

Note
Use day-old garlic bread or toast your bread cubes briefly before layering — it’ll help keep them from getting too soggy.
Want a kick of heat? Add diced jalapeños or red pepper flakes to the meat sauce.
For added richness, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese or a splash of heavy cream to the sauce before assembling.
Mozzarella works great, but don’t be afraid to mix in cheddar, Monterey Jack, or even a little provolone for extra flavor.
Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions for a fresh, colorful finish.
