  1. To Make the Sauce

In a bowl, combine the mayo, relish, mustard, pickle juice, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined. I usually transfer this to a squeeze bottle of easy application, but this is optional.

  1. To Make the Skillet

Add the beef to a pan over medium high heat. Break it up, stir, and fry until just about cooked through. Move the beef to one side and add in the onion and garlic. Stir and sauté until fragrant. Mix well with the beef. Flatten the beef down and allow it to fry for a few minutes until a crust forms. Then break it up again and even it out in the pan.

  2. Spread the cheese over the top and allow it to melt down. Turn off the heat and add the lettuce, pickles, and sauce. I zig zag the sauce over the top. This is where the bottle comes in handy. If you are not using a bottle, spoon it over. Top with the finely chopped onions and sesame seeds.

  3. Serve and enjoy your Big Mac Skillet in 20 Minutes!

Note

Use 80/20 ground beef for the best flavor and texture. Leaner beef works, but it won’t give quite the same rich “burger” taste.

Don’t overcook the beef. Browning it just until it develops some nice caramelized bits helps give the skillet that classic burger flavor.

Baby dill pickles work best for this recipe. They’re crisp and tangy and give the skillet that familiar Big Mac bite.

The pickle juice in the sauce is the secret. Just a small splash helps recreate that unmistakable Big Mac flavor.

Add the lettuce at the very end. This keeps it fresh and crisp rather than wilted.

• If you prefer, you can serve the skillet mixture on toasted sesame buns or inside slider buns for a more traditional burger experience.

• For extra flavor, sprinkle a few sesame seeds over the finished skillet. It adds a subtle nutty taste and gives a nod to the classic Big Mac bun.
