  • 2 medium boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into strips
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves minced or chopped garlic
  • Topping for the Gyros
  • 3 medium pieces of flat pitta bread
  • 1/2 medium chopped cucumber
  • 1 medium diced tomato
  • 1/2 small chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 3 medium pieces romain lettuce
  1. Add the chicken strips to a mixing bowl followed by the seasoning ingredients. Mix until well combined and the chicken is coated. Set aside for a few minutes. You can also marinate for a few hours or overnight for best results.

  2. Place the chicken strips onto a grill or into a pan over medium high heat. Fry until golden brown and cooked through.

  3. Heat the pita bread in a frying pan. Lay them out on a flat surface. Spread some tzatziki sauce over the top. Placed the chicken over the top followed by some lettuce, cucumber, onion, and tomato. Fold both ends toward the centre.

  4. Serve and enjoy your chicken gyros.

As always, you can adjust the seasoning according to your liking. You can also add and omit seasoning if you wish.

I use boneless skinless chicken breast but size can be used as well as they're a bit juicier.

The same rule applies to the toppings. Add, omit, or change what you wish.
