  • 1/2 Red bell pepper, julienned
  • 1/2 Yellow bell pepper, julienned
  • 2 Tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Ground black pepper
  • 1 Tsp of smoked paprika
  • 2 Tsp of Italian seasoning
  • 2 Cups of beef broth
  • 1 Cup of table cream (You can also use heavy cream.)
  • 3 Cups of bow tie pasta
  • 2 Cups of grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp of chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
  1. Add the ground beef to a pan over medium high heat. Break up and fry until browned and cooked through. Drain off any excess grease if necessary. Move the beef to one side of the pan and add in the onion and garlic. Saute until fragrant. Put the bell pepper in and fry until they begin to soften. Mix everything together.

  2. Season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined. Pour in the beef broth and table cream, stir, and bring to a boil. Add in the pasta, stir, reduce the heat, cover, and allow to simmer for about 12 minutes until the pasta is soft.

  3. Once the pasta is tender, add the cheese over the top, place the lid back on, and allow the cheese to melt. Plate and garnish with parsley. Serve and enjoy your Creamy Bow Tie Goulash That’s Ground Beef-tastic!

Note

Pasta Cooking Tips:

  • Cook the bow tie pasta just until al dente, as it will continue to cook slightly when mixed with the sauce. Overcooked pasta can become mushy in the final dish.
  • Salt your pasta water generously for better flavor.

Ground Beef Options:

  • For a leaner dish, use ground turkey, chicken, or lean ground beef (90/10).
  • If using a fattier ground beef, drain excess grease after browning to prevent the dish from becoming oily.

Customizations:

  • Veggies: Add zucchini, or mushrooms for extra nutrients and flavor.
  • Spices: For more depth, try adding red pepper flakes.
  • Cheese: Experiment with different cheeses like Monterey Jack, Gruyère, or Parmesan for a unique twist.

Make it Ahead:

  • This dish reheats beautifully, making it perfect for meal prep. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Add a splash of milk or cream when reheating to restore the creaminess.

Freezing Tips:

  • Freeze portions in airtight containers for up to 2 months. Let thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating. Avoid freezing if the pasta is already very soft, as it may not hold up well.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Pair this creamy goulash with a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
  • Serve with a side of garlic bread to soak up the delicious sauce!

Allergy-Friendly Adjustments:

  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pasta and a gluten-free flour alternative for the roux.
  • To make it dairy-free, use plant-based milk, vegan cheese, and olive oil instead of butter.

Scaling the Recipe:

  • Easily double or halve the recipe to suit your needs. If doubling, ensure your skillet or pot is large enough to accommodate the ingredients.
