  • 1/2 cup green olives

  6. Serve and enjoy your ground beef picadillo.

Note
  1. Choosing the right cut of beef: When making picadillo, it is important to choose the right cut of beef. Ground chuck or ground sirloin are good options as they have a good balance of fat and lean meat. Avoid using ground beef with too much fat content as it can make the dish greasy.

  3. Adding vegetables: Picadillo typically includes vegetables like onions, garlic, bell peppers, and tomatoes. These vegetables add flavor, texture, and nutrition to the dish. Make sure to chop them finely so that they cook evenly.

  4. Seasoning: This Picadillo is seasoned with cumin, chili powder, and oregano. Adjust the amount of seasoning according to your taste preference. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon for a unique flavor.

  5. Adding capers and olives: Adding capers and olives to the picadillo is a traditional way to to add a briny flavor to the dish.

  6. Serving: Picadillo can be served with rice, tortillas, or on its own. Top it with some fresh cilantro or shredded cheese for an extra burst of flavor.
