Description

There is nothing nicer than a nice berry crumble when fall is approaching. We went berry picking the other weekend and made a superb blueberry crumble. The ingredients are easy and simple and the outcome is fantastic.

Ingredients
    To Prepare the Berries
  • 6 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1-2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the Crumble
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup white granulated sugar (Brown sugar can be used too.)
  • 6 tablespoons cubed cold butter
Instructions
  1. Add the berries to a baking dish, followed by the sugar, corn starch, lemon zest, lemon juice, and salt. Using a spatula, mix until well combined and the berries are coated.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, sugar, and butter. Using your finger tips or pastry cutter, mix everything together until a crumbly mixture forms.

  3. Spread the crumble over the berries until completely covered.

  4. Place in a 350 degree F or 180 C preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes.

  5. Remove from the oven and serve with some vanilla ice cream.

  6. Enjoy your easy blueberry crumble.
