Everything Bagel Chicken Strips in 35 Minutes

everythingbagelchickenstrips

I've always liked everything bagels. Putting two and two together, I though, what about using everything bagels as a coating for chicken strips instead of bread crumbs. I toasted my bagels, put them in the food processor, combined some spices, and the outcome was incredible. I have never had a nicer breaded chicken in my life. The great thing is, you can do this with any of your favourite bagels.

  • 3 medium boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into strips
  • 2 medium everything bagels, toasted and made into crumbs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted melted butter
Instructions
  1. Cut the chicken into strips and season with salt and pepper.

  2. Place the bagels into a food process and pulse until they become similar to bread crumbs.

  3. Add the bread crumbs to a mixing bowl followed by the Parmesan, hot pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.

  4. Dredge the chicken strips into the butter and then into the bagel crumbs. Set aside on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  6. Serve with your favourite sauce and a garden salad. Enjoy!

Note

As Always, adjust the seasoning according to your liking. In other works, add or omit what you please.

You can add some bbq sauce or hot sauce to the melted butter for additional flavour.

Use chicken tenderloins if you wish. I just find breasts and a bit more economical.
