Family Table Sausage & Potato Supper is simple comfort food at its finest. This hearty skillet meal combines browned Italian sausage, tender potatoes, sweet carrots, corn, and melted cheddar cheese in a rich, creamy sauce that's full of flavor. Easy to prepare and made with everyday ingredients, it's the kind of satisfying family-style supper that keeps everyone coming back for seconds.

  1. Cut the Italian sausage links into thick diagonal slices and set them aside.
  2. Heat the butter and oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sausage and cook until browned and heated through, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Add the potatoes and carrots. Stir and cook until the they begin to soften, about 4 to 5 minutes.

  5. Add the garlic and onions. Sauté for another minute until fragrant.

  6. Stir in the corn, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, rosemary, and thyme. Mix until everything is well combined.

  7. Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  8. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork tender. Stir occasionally and add a splash more broth if needed.
  9. Remove the lid and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes to allow any excess liquid to reduce.
  10. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the top. 

  11. Garnish with the sliced green onion and serve hot.
