Festive Funnel Cake Recipe

funnel cake
Funnel cake dates back to medieval times, and the concept was brought to Europe first and then the United States in the late 1800's. It is commonly served at carnivals and sporting events. It is a very simple dish made with eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, and salt. The cake is then put through a funnel and fried in hot oil until golden brown. They are very tasty to say the least, and your family and friends will love them.

Description

Extra spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg can be used, as well. I usually dust the funnel cakes with confectioner's sugar which is common. They also can be topped with a fruit sauce, a glaze, or maple syrup. Feel free to use the topping of your choice.
