Pepper Beef Rice Recipe in 15 Minutes

beefpepperrice
I was looking for an Asian inspired rice one day and came across this Pepper beef rice recipe. It was beyond my wildest dreams how simple and fast it was to make up. It is actually Japanese in its origins. Believe it or not, the entire dish was ready to eat in about 15 minutes. The outcome was to die for. I think it was the thin beef that made the dish. Oh, and the sauce was so simple and easy with a flavour beyond words. Believe me, my friends, this dish is a must try.

Ingredients
    For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons marin (If you don't have mirim, use cooking wine or water.)
  • 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • For the Beef
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cup pre-cooked rice
  • 3 tablespoons sweet corn
  • 1 medium green onion, chopped
  • 3/4 pounds beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
    To Make the Dish
  1. Add the sauce ingredients to a small mixing bowl and whisk until well combined. Set aside.

  2. Add half the butter to a pan over medium heat and allow it to melt down. Add in the rice, pour half the sauce over it, and place the remaining butter, corn, and onion on top.

  3. Place the beef around the rice and fry for a few minutes until brown on one side. Do not cook too long as the beef is very thin. Turn off the heat and add in the remaining sauce. Flip the beef over and allow it to cook for about 1 minute on the other side.

  4. Serve and enjoy your beef pepper rice in 15 minutes.
