Description

This rustic skillet recipe brings together the best of two comfort food classics — meatballs and garlic bread — in one easy, cheesy bake. Tender, flavorful meatballs are nestled in marinara sauce, topped with shredded cheese, and baked alongside chunks of buttery garlic bread that crisp up beautifully right in the pan.

It’s a one-pan meal that’s rich, savory, and guaranteed to satisfy. Perfect for busy weeknights, laid-back weekends, or anytime you want something filling and full of flavor without a pile of dishes. Serve it hot from the skillet and watch it disappear fast!

  1. Add the ground beef to a mixing bowl followed by the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, Parmesan, salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and the egg. Using your hands or a spoon, mix until well combined. Pick up a handful or ice cream scoop full of the beef mixture and form it into a meatball. Of course, you can make the meatballs to the size of your choice. Place into a pan and fry over medium high heat until seared. You don't have to cook them fully, just sear them.

  2. Pour a bit of the marinara sauce into the pan. Add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and pepper to the remaining sauce in the jar. Place the lid on and shake it well. Pour the sauce into the pan around the meatballs. I do this as it's difficult to stir the seasoning when it is around the meatballs. You don't want to break them up.

  3. Open the tube of biscuits and place them on a plate. I cut them in half, but you can cut them smaller if you wish. To make the garlic butter, add the parsley and garlic in and stir well. Do this in a small mixing bowl. Brush the garlic butter over the biscuits. Now place the biscuits around the meatballs and spread the cheese over the top.

  4. Place in a 375 degree F preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until everything is heated through and the biscuits are a golden brown.

  5. Garnish with parsley, serve, and enjoy our Cheesy Meatballs and Garlic Bread Bake.

Note

  • Use store-bought or homemade meatballs – Both work great! If you're short on time, frozen pre-cooked meatballs can save the day.
  • Don’t fully submerge the bread – Nestle the garlic bread chunks halfway into the sauce so the tops crisp up while the bottoms soak up flavor.
  • Cut the biscuit dough into small pieces – This helps them cook evenly and rise better without staying doughy in the middle.
  • Add a little heat if you like – A pinch of chili flakes or a drizzle of hot sauce takes the flavor up a notch.
  • Broil for a bubbly finish – Pop the skillet under the broiler for 1–2 minutes at the end to get that irresistible golden top.
  • Serve with a side salad or roasted veggies – It balances out the richness and makes a complete meal.
  • Leftovers reheat well – Just cover and warm in the oven or microwave with a splash of marinara or water to keep things moist.
