It can be left overnight as well. What I usually do is make up the marinate the night before and leave it overnight. That way, you can simply come home, slip it in the air fryer, make the side dish, and dinner is a breeze. In light of this, our saffron chicken makes a perfect midweek meal.
To make the marinate, place all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix until well combined.
Add the chicken in and toss until well combined with the marinate.
Allow it to marinate for one hour. You can also marinate it overnight.
Place the chicken onto a baking tray sprayed with oil.
Place into a 375 degree F or 180 C preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Serve and enjoy your savory saffron chicken.

Undoubtedly, saffron is expensive. It is, however, well worth while having on hand as it can be used in many dishes sauce as piaia. You can add extra spices too if you wish. If you don't have an air fryer, the chicken can be baked, deep fried, grilled. or simply fried. Other cuts of chicken can be used as well.
On an end note, you can add additional spices if you wish. I though of adding garlic, but it just didn't seem to fit.
