  1. Add the ground beef to a pan over medium high heat. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and fry until cooked through and browned. Set aside in a bowl.

  2. In the same pan add in some oil. Place the potatoes in. Stir and fry until cooked through and tender. This should take about 8 minutes.

  3. Push the potatoes to one side and add in the onion and garlic. Stir and saute until fragrant. Add in the corn and stir. Place the beef back in, the bbq sauce, and the beans. Mix everything together. Add the grated cheese over the top, place a lid on, and allow to simmer until the cheese melts and the beans and corn heat up.

  4. Garnish with green onions, serve, and enjoy your Bold Smoky Ground Beef Potato Skillet!

Note

  1. Meat Choices:
    • While this recipe uses ground beef, feel free to substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version. You can also use a mix of beef and pork for a richer flavor.
  2. Seasoning Variations:
    • If you prefer a spicier dish, try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce. For a milder version, use sweet BBQ seasoning and skip the extra heat.
  3. Potatoes:
    • Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes work best for this recipe. If you're in a rush, you can use pre-cooked or frozen diced potatoes to save time. Just ensure they're heated through before adding to the skillet.
  4. Toppings:
    • Customize your hash by adding a dollop of sour cream, shredded cheese, or a sprinkle of chopped fresh herbs (parsley, cilantro, or green onions) before serving.
  5. Make-Ahead Tip:
    • This recipe is great for meal prep! You can prepare the hash ahead of time, store it in the fridge for up to 3 days, and reheat it when you're ready to serve.
  6. Leftovers:
    • Leftover hash can be used as a topping for a baked potato, stuffed in a tortilla for a quick wrap, or even tossed in a salad for added protein and flavor.
  7. Vegetable Add-ins:
    • Feel free to throw in extra vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach for added nutrition and flavor. Just sauté them along with the onions and garlic.
