  1. Add the oil to  a pan over medium high heat. Place the hash browns in and fry until crisp and cooked. Set aside in a bowl.

  2. In the same pan, add in the ground beef. Break it up and season with salt and pepper. Fry until cooked through and no longer pink. Move the ground beef to one side and add in the onion and garlic. Fry until fragrant. Push to one side again and add in the bell peppers. Fry for a few minutes until they begin to soften.

  3. To make up the BBQ sauce, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

  4. Move everything to one side of the pan once more and add in the BBQ sauce. Allow it to cook for a minute or two to active and then mix it with the ground beef. Add in the corn, hash browns, and hot pepper flakes. Mix gently and simmer until the corn heats up.

  5. Garnish with the parsley, serve, and enjoy your Smokey BBQ Ground Beef Hash!

Note

Keep the heat at a steady medium so the potatoes have time to soften without burning.

Stir occasionally, but don’t over-stir — letting the hash sit for a few minutes helps develop better flavor and texture.

A cast-iron or heavy skillet works best for even cooking and a slightly crisp finish.

Taste and adjust seasoning near the end, especially salt and BBQ sauce, as different brands vary in sweetness and smokiness.

This is a forgiving recipe — if it looks a little dry, a small splash of water or broth will bring everything together nicely.

Serve straight from the skillet for the best texture and flavor.
