Pizza casserole? I can’t believe I’ve gone this far in life without trying it. This recipe not only shows you how to make pizza casserole, but shows you how to make the best one ever. The ingredients used are so simple as well: tomato sauce, pizza sauce, normal pizza toppings, and a few spices. It even gets better as it’s all made in one pan! Believe me, it is an instant party hit especially with the kids. Nope, no more ordering out. It’s all done at home, with simple ingredients in one pan.

  1. Add the pasta to boiling salted water and cook for 10 to 12 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. Add the beef to a cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Cook for 5 minutes or so until browned.

  3. Add in the onion and garlic and saute until fragrant. This should take about 2 or 3 minutes.

  4. Pour the tomato and pizza sauce in followed by the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

  5. Add in the pasta. Stir once again until well combined.

  6. Place the mozzarella over the top followed by the pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, and basil.

  7. Place the pizza casserole into a 375 F or 200 C preheated oven for about 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the pepperoni cooked.

  8. Serve and enjoy your wonderful pizza casserole.

Note

I use lean ground beef, but any cut can be used. Just remember to drain any excess fat.

As mentioned in the ingredients, we use rotini noodles, but any type of noodle can be used.

Pizza sauce can be omitted and marinara or pasta sauce can be used in place of the tomato sauce.

Again, the toppings are only my favourite, feel free to use the toppings of your choice.
