An avocado shake or smoothie is incredibly healthy and nutritious. Avocados are one of the most popular foods among the health-conscious community. They contain a large amount of nutrients which include: vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin V5 and 6, potassium, and folate. Each avocado also has about 160 calories and contains 2 grams of protein and 15 healthy fats only to mention a few of the nutritional values.
The recipe can be altered in a few ways to suit your taste. First, we use honey to sweeten up the avocado smoothie, but sugar or corn syrup can be used as a sweetener. Remember, you can change the amount according to your diet and liking or leave it out completely if you wish.
We use plain yogurt, but flavored or Greek can be used. It’s a matter of personal preference. For example, a combination of strawberry, blueberry, or banana yogurt and avocado might be a nice touch.
We use 2 percent milk but skimmed or 1 percent could be used as well to make the smoothie more diet conscious.

- 2 avocados
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp of honey
- 8 – 10 ice cubes
- Slice the avocados around the pit, remove it, and scoop the flesh into a blender.
- Add in the milk, yogurt, honey and ice cubes.
- Pulse until smooth and creamy.
- Serve and enjoy your avocado smoothie.
