Add a layer of cabbage to the bottom of a Dutch oven or ovenproof pot. Follow this by a layer of onions, apples, and raisins. Repeat this process twice to form two layers.

Dust the ground clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon over. Add the brown sugar and pour the cooking wine and water over. Place in a 355 degree F or 185 C preheated oven for an hour and a half. I stir the cabbage every 30 minutes.

Remove the cabbage from the oven and place the butter in. Stir until well combined. Serve with pork chops or the protein of your choice. Enjoy your red braised cabbage!
