Quick and easy grilled cheese sandwiches are simple and easy to make. They make a great lunch especially when they are served up with some tomato soup.
It is important to note that you do not apply any butter to the bread in this recipe. I don’t know how many times over the years, before discovering this method, that I’ve ripped bread apart trying to spread the butter on. In this recipe, the butter is melted in the pan. After that, the bread is placed in and the cheese is arranged on top. Then, the second slice of bread is added, and it’s cooked for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes on each side. It’s as simple as that. Grilled cheese sandwiches are best made with white bread and sharp cheddar cheese; although, processed cheese slices can be used in a pinch.[hr][wpsr_facebook][wpsr_pinterest][wpsr_stumbleupon][wpsr_linkedin][printfriendly][hr][two_third]

- Place a tbsp of butter in a pan. Over medium low heat, allow it to melt. Place one slice of bread in and arrange the cheese on it. Place the second piece of bread on top. Allow it to cook for about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes or until it is nicely browned. Using an egg flipper, press down lightly on the bread one or two times while it’s browning.
- Lift the bread using spatula and put another half of butter. Flip the sandwich to the other side, and allow it to cook for an additional 3 minutes.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy your fast and easy grilled cheese sandwich.
