Chicken Lomi is a noodle soup similar to sopas, in the exception of thick sauce. The most delicious Lomi can be found in Batangas. In this recipe other types of meat can be used such as pork, chicken, beef, shrimp or any combination of squid balls, kikiam or shrimp balls. You can also add as many toppings you like such as, chicharon( pork skin), onion leeks, tofu, fried garlic, calamansi, etc. This is easy to cook but need a continuous stirring in order to achieve the perfect thickness of sauce.

- 350 g miki noodles blanched
- 2-3 medium chicken breast boiled and shredded
- 10 squid or shrimp balls, cut in half
- 3 cups chicken stock or water
- 1/2 head small cabbage cut in strips
- 1 small carrot julienne
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 egg beaten
- 2 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup water
- 2 stalks onion leeks or green onions chopped
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- pepper to taste

- Heat cooking oil in a pan. Saute onion and garlic until soft and fragrant.
- Add chicken meat and squid balls. Saute for few minutes until light brown.
- Pour water. Season with soy sauce and pepper. Stir and bring to a boil.
- After a boil, place the miki noodles and soak well. Bring to a boil.
- Place in cabbage and carrots. Cover and simmer until half cooked.
- Pour in dissolved cornstarch. Stir until sauce thickens.
- When sauce thickens, add in beaten egg. Stir until egg cooked. Turn off heat.
- Garnish with chopped onion leeks and serve with sliced calamansi.
