Ginisang Sayote (chayote) is a simple Filipino vegetable recipe. It is easy to cook, healthy, and makes an utterly delicious lunch or dinner. It is one of many variations of ginisang gulay in the Philippines. Locals refer to this dish as food for the masses. Chayote is a very common vegetable in the country and is always available in local markets. Rich or poor alike can benefit from chayote as it is a good source of vitamin C. This dish can be soupy or dry depending on your preferences. Many locals prefer it soupy so they can pour it over their rice. If you are a vegan, you can discard the pork and use only shrimp.[hr]
