Easy Poutine

  • 350 grams crinkled fries
  • 1 1/4 cup cheese curds (yellow) or broken up mozzarella

For the Gravy:

  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 cup beef stock

  1. Deep fry the fries or baked it in oven over 250 degrees C until golden brown.
  2. Meanwhile melt the butter in a preheated nonstick pan. Add flour in and whisk continuously over medium low heat  until well dissolved. If you want a darker gravy, allow it to cook for an additional 3 minutes o so.
  3. Pour the half of the beef stock and whisk constantly until smooth. Add the remaining half of the beef stock and whisk until smooth, lumps free and reach you desired thickness.
  4. When the fries are golden brown, set them aside in a platter line with paper towel.Transfer them to a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Toss.
  5. Transfer them into a platter. distribute the cheese curds over the top, and pour the hot gravy. Serve and enjoy!
