Homemade Italian seasoning is simple to make. I’ve done a fair amount of research before writing this blog and found the ingredients listed below are the foundation to most Italian seasoning recipes. You can do some variations to it, however. Some other common ingredients used in the seasoning are marjoram, parsley, and red pepper flakes. Feel free to add one or all of these to this recipe. I have also seen onion powder, garlic, salt, and pepper added, as well. Personally, I feel salt and pepper should always be added separately as the amount varies according to the dish being cooked and individualized tastes.Β I usually make up a container of homemade Italian seasoning a keep it on my spice rack. It’s a real time saver.
Ingredients:
- Β Β Β 2 tbsp of dried thyme
- Β Β Β 2 tbsp of dried oregano
- Β Β Β 2 tbsp of basil
- Β Β Β 1 tbsp of sage
- Β Β Β 1 tbsp o rosemary
Method:
Add the ingredients to a mixing bowl, stir well, place in a spice container, and label it for use in the future.
