  1. Add the butter and oil to a pan over medium high heat. Place the mushrooms in. Stir and and sauté until the mushrooms are cooked through and browned. While the mushroom are cooking, add the pasta to a pot of boiling water. Cook for 9 or 10 minutes until al dente. When the mushrooms are cooked, set them aside in a bowl. Drain the pasta, add a bit of oil to it, and set it aside.

  2. In the same pan, add in a bit of olive oil. Place the ground beef in and fry until cooked through and browned. Move it to one side of the pan and add in the onion and garlic. Stir and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Mix in with the pork.

  3. Put the mushrooms in followed by the spinach. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and pepper flakes. Stir until well combined. Place the noodles in and toss. Sprinkle the parmesan over.

  4. Plate and add a bit more parmesan over the top. Enjoy your One-Pan Pasta Skillet with Mushrooms Spinach and Pork!

Note

  • Pasta Choice: This recipe works well with various short pastas like penne, farfalle (bowtie), or rotini.
  • Ground Meat: Feel free to substitute ground turkey, chicken, or sausage for the ground pork.
  • Spice it Up! Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
  • Spinach: Fresh baby spinach is best, but you can also use thawed frozen spinach (drain well and squeeze out excess moisture).
  • Vegetarian Option: Omit the pork and add an extra drizzle of olive oil for additional flavor. Consider adding crumbled tofu or lentils for a vegetarian protein boost.
  • Cheese Variations: Feel free to use shredded Gruyere, Asiago, or a combination of Parmesan and Romano cheese.
  • Leftovers: This recipe reheats well for lunch or another quick dinner. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Serving Suggestions: Top your pasta skillet with a crusty loaf of bread for dipping, a simple green salad, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
