BLTs are super fast to make and really delicious. They are popular throughout North America. I love these as a treat on weekends. They can also be served up for lunch or even dinner.
When preparing BLT’s, it’s important to use a good quality bacon as this will make or break the quality of the sandwich. When searching the bacon section of your supermarket, choose a medium priced bacon. I use a white bread, but you can use brown or your favorite bread. I also use iceberg lettuce, but romaine or your favorite type of lettuce can also be used. It’s also important to use a large, firm, ripe tomato. Kraft original mayo is my preference, but you can certainly use your favorite mayonnaise.

- Fry the bacon in a preheated pan. It usually takes about 5 minutes, over medium high heat, Β to make it crisp. Set it aside on a plate lined with a paper towel. If you want it a little less crisp, reduce the frying time.
- Place the bacon on 1 piece of toast followed by the tomato and iceberg lettuce. Spread a generous layer of mayonnaise over the second piece of toast, slice it in half, and serve. Enjoy your BLT sandwich.
